Eco is the way to go - says Peveril Homes! - April 23rd

As the government announces that from May 1st this year all new homes are to be rated on their green credentials, one Midlands home builder is already celebrating an Eco-award on for one of their most desirable developments.

Peveril Homes has been awarded an Ecohome 'Very Good' rating for the first two phases of their popular Ashleigh Gardens development in Sutton-in-Ashfield.

The development features a range of contemporary two bed apartments as well as a selection of two and three-bedroom semi-detached homes, and four-bedroom detached homes - which were assessed against seven categories including energy, transport, pollution materials and health and well-being.

Comments Peveril Homes Director, Colin Wright: "This award is a testament to the design expertise and innovation shown by the team of architects and builders here at Peveril and their ability to incorporate eco-friendly design into all of our new homes."

"In the past few years, there has been an increase in the number of home buyers who now want to know how 'green' their homes are, and research has even shown that up to 85 per cent of homebuyers in the UK would consider purchasing an eco-friendly home. New build homes will play a huge role in tackling climate change in the future and the government has set a target that all new build homes are to be zero carbon from 2016. At Peveril Homes - we are one step ahead!"

"This award gives our buyers valuable information about their homes and the facilities put in place. For instance we made sure the development layout would ensure good levels of natural daylight in downstairs rooms which will go some way to helping reduce energy bills!"

All homes at Ashleigh Gardens include high-efficiency boilers which give off fewer gases that damage the atmosphere and are built using high levels of insulation to reduce energy loss. All materials used in the build of the homes were obtained from sustainable sources wherever possible.

This attention to environmental detail was addressed from the outset. Continues Colin: "The site offers buyers the chance to do their bit for the environment, not only by owning a sustainable home, but due to the fact that the development is supported by great local amenities including schools, shops, and public transport links all within walking distance which will reduce the need for car journeys. These homes have been constructed with today's eco-conscious buyer in mind but also retain the high-quality design and build techniques which have become synonymous with a Peveril home."

Ashleigh Gardens has a range of three and four bedroom homes still available to buy. Three bedroom homes start from just £128,950 and four bedroom homes from £194,850.
