Downsizers are looking to Peveril Homes for new lease of life - June 17th

A brand new home in a great location is a must for the generation of 'lock up and leaves' who spend the majority of their time abroad.

And that's certainly what retired down-sizers David and Joyce Houghton had in mind when they decided to sell their large family home in Walsall where they have lived for the past 30 years, in place of a secure, low maintenance home at Peveril's Eaton Park.

"Eaton Park certainly fits the bill," says David Houghton. "Now our family has flown the nest we prefer to make the most of our retirement by splitting our time between here and France and so were in need of a UK base that not only offered quality living space but also has good travel links."
"We opted for a three-bedroom townhouse over an apartment as it offers a great deal more flexible living space, which was important to us both. In terms of location, the fact that we are able to walk into Rugeley town centre is also very appealing."

"Whilst the downsizer stereotype traditionally involves an apartment, we are finding that most people are now attuned to townhouse living as well, and the trend has shifted slightly to include this housetype because of the flexibility it offers."
